Google To Shut Down Google Buzz, iGoogle and Google Labs

Written By Lingkar Dunia on Saturday, October 15, 2011 | 1:59 AM

Google has finally decided to shut down its Google Buzz project after introducing its social feature in February 2010. Google Buzz was one of the first steps of Google towards social networking arena and after learning the goods and bads from Google Buzz, Google launched its new Social Networking platform called Google+ in late June 2011, which is considering the one of the successor of Google in social networking arena.

According to the Official Google Blog, In a few weeks well shut down Google Buzz and the Buzz API, and focus instead on Google+, written by Google vice president of product "Bradley Horowitz". The site more said that "While people obviously won't be able to create new posts after that, they will be able to view their existing content on their Google Profile, and download it using Google Takeout."

Its good for Google to shutdown Google Buzz to focus more on Google+ because Google Buzz was not providing the online presence of Google into Social Networking arena. Google announced earlier this week that Google+ has 40 million users, and it seems now is the time to shut down Google Buzz.

In addition of Google Buzz shut down news, the company more said that they are going to close their Code Search project on January 15, 2012. (The feature let users search for open source code on the Internet). Google also said that they will also shut down other Social Media Features includes, Jaiku (Twitter Look alike), iGoogles social feature for Google Search and Google Labs will also be shut down on same date.

Most Popular Social Sharing Plugin Button for Websites and Blogs

Written By Lingkar Dunia on Saturday, July 9, 2011 | 3:37 PM

BirghtEdge has published a new report which is about the Most Popular Social Sharing Plugin of websites and blogs, In that report the website includes top 10,000 websites and their adoption of social sharing plugins. The report compared the data from June 2011 and July 2011; show that Facebook and Twitter are both doing very well. Facebook has a clear edge though, while Google already shows signs of being able to seriously compete and can beat other social platform. Google+ surely has had a potential since its launched to compete in market.

Google +1 social sharing button is already more common on websites and blogs as compare to the Twitter tweet button. The report states that after analyzing the 10,000 largest websites, 450 of them had the +1 button compared to only 340 for Twitter. Facebook is still the dominant force in the market with 2,000 sites using some form of the Like button. In terms of the overall number of links out to the various social sites, Facebook leads the way with 47.4 percent of the top 10,000 websites including a link to Facebook directly on their homepage. Twitter has 41.8 percent, YouTube has 16.75 percent, and LinkedIn has 3.7 percent.

According to the latest social plugin comparison includes Google+ the report is very much familiar that Facebook offers four plugins: Facebook Like button (10.8 percent), Facebook Like box (6.1 percent), Facebook Connect (1.9 percent), and Facebook Recommendations (1.2 percent). Its not too much of a shocker that Facebook is dominating this scene. Not only does the social network offer the most options, but it has been offering plugins for much longer than its competitors. Google +1 button (4.5 percent) is already ahead of the Twitter Tweet button (2.1 percent) and the Twitter Follow button (1.3 percent). Google+ is still in its infancy stages, its impressive that theyve already taken over Twitter in terms of easily liking content on the Internet.

'Google+ Plus' New Social Network - Google+ Features and Details

Written By Lingkar Dunia on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 | 10:57 AM

Google has just introduced its new Social Network concept named "Google+", may be a new competitor of Facebook. Google announced a new social project, but not like its previous releases of Google Waves, Google Buzz etc, but now Google is very serious with its new social project called Google+. Google+ provides the opportunity to Google users to connect and interact with people who are in their contacts with more social way. It will take all your Google contacts and adds a level of sharing and organization that makes the Google experience more social than ever.

According to the Official Google Blog, Google+ is basically provides the sharing idea known as Circles. Circles is a drag and drop interface for organizing friends into groups, and from the interactive tour on the site, seems to understand that this should be smooth, quick and painless ordeal, instead of a chore. Hangout is an area where you can digitally hang out with your contacts that are online, via, chat, voice or video and you can join other groups of people that are hanging out as well (if they want you to, of course). Huddle seems to be a more structured and tactual version of Hangout, allowing you to consolidate multiple chat sessions into one shared session. Instant Upload is going to drive the mobile side of this new network, whereby every picture and video you take from your Android phone will automatically sync with your Google+ account, and will be shared to whomever you specify. Google+ Circles is an attempt to address that challenge. The HTML5 system allows users to drag-and-drop their friends into different social circles for friends, family, classmates, co-workers and other custom groups. Users can drag groups of friends in and out of these circles.

Google has already start testing its new design interface for many of its products like Google Search, Google Adwords, Google Maps etc to match with Google Plus. The company has started overhauling its other web services with its new interface. So far, we've seen a new global black navigation bar, Google.com and maps today, with more to come. According to the Google Blog, the new interface will provide their services in line with a common interface. Google says that the project focused on three main design principles; focus, elasticity, and effortlessness.
