Google Punishes Itself After SERP Terms Violation - Google's Positive Response

Written By Lingkar Dunia on Friday, January 6, 2012 | 7:56 AM

Google has takes a positive step after getting various criticisms on internet over violation of its own Search Engine Ranking Position (SERP) Terms and Conditions to gain more popularity and ranking on its own Search Engine "Google" for one of its own product Google Chrome. According to the story unveiled from SEOBook about "Pay Per Post (PPP) Campaign" tactics from Google to market Google Chrome on various low end profile Blogs.

Now Google has punishes itself by demoting its own ranking on search engine results. For the next 60 days users won't be able to see any kind of ads for Chrome when searching for keyword 'browser' on Google.com. This step has been taken from Google for its paid ads campaign; Google had been paying various bloggers to create what would be considered 'low quality content' against the company's terms of service. By paying bloggers to post hyperlinks to the Chrome download page, Google was able to drive itself to a higher position in its own search results. The only problem was that this violated its own terms of service for Paid Links.

Before browser SERP:
After browser SERP:

The issue was first highlighted by one of SEOBook author in which he mentioned that how come a keyword for This post is sponsored by Google brings back over 400 search pages on Google, but now Google has taken a serious and major step by demoting and removing all search results of itself and various other website which were involved in that "Pay Per Post" (PPP) campaign. Google have also dropped the PageRank value of the website http://www.google.com/chrome contain 9 (PR), remembered reducing the PageRank value is not the same as removing or banning the page from Google Search. however, a lower PageRank value will reduce its chances to get higher rank for certain keywords, not only this Google have also dropped the ranking position of the webpage from top to lower grade, previously http://www.google.com/chrome was ranking on top 10 search results but now you have to go to the fifth page of results to find it, ranked in position 55 and sometime we have also seen the page lower to as low at 93.

According to Google's official statement to Search Engine Land;
Weve investigated and are taking manual action to demote www.google.com/chrome and lower the sites PageRank for a period of at least 60 days.
We strive to enforce Googles webmaster guidelines consistently in order to provide better search results for users.
While Google did not authorize this campaign, and we can find no remaining violations of our webmaster guidelines, we believe Google should be held to a higher standard, so we have taken stricter action than we would against a typical site.
I think its really a good and positive step from Google and its team to defend itself and to clean Search Engine from all these kind of approaches and campaign in near future and it will helps Google to maintain its reputation and to become and remain number one Search Engine of Internet for decades.

Access Blogger Account by Hack Blogger Vulnerability

Written By Lingkar Dunia on Friday, March 11, 2011 | 9:14 PM

A hacker with the name of Nir Goldshlager has posted the information and video showing how an attacker could quickly and easily gain administrative privileges to any Blogger account. The video show off some complex tricks and techniques. Goldshlager did mention that this was for the Google Reward Program, where someone who successfully finds and exploits vulnerabilities in Google software will win $1337.
The seven minute of video by Goldshlager shows how he successfully gained access to a blogger account by adding himself as an author (without the administrators approval), then sends himself a confirmation email, after which the attacker would become an author on the website. Following these steps, the attacker successfully modifies their permissions to become an administrator, allowing full access to add, edit, and delete all the content on the victims blog.

The blog doesn't mention if this vulnerability has been patched by Google or if Google is still unaware of the problem, as the exploit was only posted today.

Windows Live Space Powered by WordPress Now

Written By Lingkar Dunia on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 | 11:33 AM

Rather than continuing to push its currently limited blogging platform, Spaces, Microsoft has partnered with Automattic to provide WordPress.com blogs to all Live Spaces users.

Craving expandability and better spam protection, the Live team chose WordPress as its ideal platform partner due to WordPress impressive track record. Powering 8.5% of the web, almost 26 million sites, WordPress and WordPress.com serve over 250 million unique visitors every month. By developing this partnership, Microsoft has not only provided a solid service to their users but also has gained a large share of the personal blogging space.
Utilizing Messenger Connect, WordPress.com is changing as well. All blogs can be linked to a Live account, serving updates and media to the users news feed for full Messenger integration. This will not affect current RSS feed sharing, yet adds another avenue for connectivity.
If new Windows Live users, or those with out a blog, choose to create one, they will automatically be redirected to the cross-branded WordPress.com/Windows Live site. A new blog will be created like normal, but just as migrated pages, will be linked to the users Live account..

By choosing an established platform rather than attempting to develop their own, Microsoft has made a smart move, both financially and from the users standpoint. Many Spaces users may be familiar with WordPress already, and if they arent, it provides an avenue to learn and expand into a very robust platform. Also, by integrating WordPress.coms currently impressive userbase, Microsoft will gain significantly from the potential increase in advertising revenue. This looks to be a win for all parties involved.

Drive more traffic to your website

Written By Lingkar Dunia on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 | 11:15 AM

If you are really concern about your website traffic then you should focus on driving more traffic in different ways. Internet is a bunch of a website and every minute there is new website published and every new website needs a customer and visitors, because without any traffic or visitors there is no reason of making a website. The best possible way to get more traffic to a website is to build back links to your website or you can say the links which locate your website.

Google and other search engines only consider a quality back links. So you have to focus on quality and do-follow back links. There are two types of back links which are counted. One is Do-Follow and other is No-Follow. Many people says that there is no used of No-Follow links but in my opinion No-Follow links have potential also as like Do-Follow. But the main thing that Do-Follow links can do for your website is to build strong back links on the eye of search engines. Which really helps your website to get more traffic? Many websites are providing opportunity for a webmasters to build back links on their websites. You can find many of them on Google. Just type Do-Follow Directories. You will find many website directories, do-follow blogs, social bookmarking websites, Do-follow articles, forums etc.

Another yet important factor to drive traffic is Social Networking websites. Social networking websites are now one of the best and effective ways of providing traffic in time to time. Almost every person today using every social networking websites, some of the famous one is Facebook, Twitter, Friendsfeed etc. You can contact with people live and keep them update with your content then they will follow your website and you can get some potential customers from that social networking websites.
