Google Punishes Itself After SERP Terms Violation - Google's Positive Response

Written By Lingkar Dunia on Friday, January 6, 2012 | 7:56 AM

Google has takes a positive step after getting various criticisms on internet over violation of its own Search Engine Ranking Position (SERP) Terms and Conditions to gain more popularity and ranking on its own Search Engine "Google" for one of its own product Google Chrome. According to the story unveiled from SEOBook about "Pay Per Post (PPP) Campaign" tactics from Google to market Google Chrome on various low end profile Blogs.

Now Google has punishes itself by demoting its own ranking on search engine results. For the next 60 days users won't be able to see any kind of ads for Chrome when searching for keyword 'browser' on Google.com. This step has been taken from Google for its paid ads campaign; Google had been paying various bloggers to create what would be considered 'low quality content' against the company's terms of service. By paying bloggers to post hyperlinks to the Chrome download page, Google was able to drive itself to a higher position in its own search results. The only problem was that this violated its own terms of service for Paid Links.

Before browser SERP:
After browser SERP:

The issue was first highlighted by one of SEOBook author in which he mentioned that how come a keyword for This post is sponsored by Google brings back over 400 search pages on Google, but now Google has taken a serious and major step by demoting and removing all search results of itself and various other website which were involved in that "Pay Per Post" (PPP) campaign. Google have also dropped the PageRank value of the website http://www.google.com/chrome contain 9 (PR), remembered reducing the PageRank value is not the same as removing or banning the page from Google Search. however, a lower PageRank value will reduce its chances to get higher rank for certain keywords, not only this Google have also dropped the ranking position of the webpage from top to lower grade, previously http://www.google.com/chrome was ranking on top 10 search results but now you have to go to the fifth page of results to find it, ranked in position 55 and sometime we have also seen the page lower to as low at 93.

According to Google's official statement to Search Engine Land;
Weve investigated and are taking manual action to demote www.google.com/chrome and lower the sites PageRank for a period of at least 60 days.
We strive to enforce Googles webmaster guidelines consistently in order to provide better search results for users.
While Google did not authorize this campaign, and we can find no remaining violations of our webmaster guidelines, we believe Google should be held to a higher standard, so we have taken stricter action than we would against a typical site.
I think its really a good and positive step from Google and its team to defend itself and to clean Search Engine from all these kind of approaches and campaign in near future and it will helps Google to maintain its reputation and to become and remain number one Search Engine of Internet for decades.

Reason Behind New Changes in Google Products Interface and Design

Written By Lingkar Dunia on Friday, July 1, 2011 | 12:49 PM

Google is customizing more of its products after the change in design and interface of Google Search, Google has already made an announcement in its previous official blog post and we had already review and discussed about the change in design and interfaces of various Google Products and Websites in our previous post. Now Google has decided to change the look and interface of its E-mail service called 'Gmail'. Soon you will be able to feel the change in interface of Gmail service and other related websites of Gmail. The new changes has made from Google after the announcement of Google's Social Networking website known as 'Google+'. These changes are all part of that particular website.

What's new in Google's new Interface?

Google's Search:

The most popular and most used Search Engine in the world Google Search interface has changed and got a new look. Google has changed the interface here greatly by introducing a new, less colorful color scheme around the Search interface. Link colors remain largely unchanged; however the sidebar has received a nice shade of black with red/orange highlights to go with. The search bar has received a grey backing and the overall top bar has been changed from white to black.

Google's Gmail:

Google has now introduced new Gmail theme and interface but you have to choose that new theme by yourself. You won't be able to see that new theme automatically. You actually have to change your theme; we recommend the use of the Dense theme as it saves space. Again, the issue of scrolling seems apparent with the new Gmail theme, as generally interface items are more spaced (especially lists). You fit fewer items on the screen and it appears as though buttons are optimized for touchscreen rather than a keyboard and mouse.

Google's Map:

Google also updated the new design and interface of its most popular product 'Google Maps'. The new interface feels more modern and refreshed, and Google has added the handy feature of My Places, which lists all places you have saved and rated for easy re-access in case you feel like visiting the same place again. There have been no changes to the actual maps part of Google Maps, so itll feel familiar in that respect.

Soon users will notice more and more new changes in Google's websites and products. So you have to get prepare for the new interface developed by the Google. Google is also encouraging users to give feedback on their new designs, and that can be provided here.

Google, Yahoo and Bing collaborate to form Schema.org

Written By Lingkar Dunia on Sunday, June 5, 2011 | 4:56 AM

The three big internet companies and competitors of all time, Google, Yahoo and Bing have team up to create a unified project called Schema.org. Today its really rare to see three big rivals collaborate on a single project. The collaboration is a positive sign that even though Google and Bing are fighting for market share, they are able to put aside differences to help out the average consumer. Schema is a website which is all about how web developers and owners have to work on their website to gain more online identity on internet and on Search Engines.

Schema.org is a new website aimed to help website owners and developers with using a common set of schemas. This new initiative is "aimed at creating and supporting a common set of schemas for structured data markup on Web pages." The search giants worked together to create a one-stop shop for website owners and developers.

According to Microsoft:
Schema.org will become a one-stop shop for site owners and developers, providing the tips and tools necessary to help improve how their sites appear in search results on Bing, Google and Yahoo! It will also help search engines better understand websites, and moving forward, Bing will work jointly with the larger Web community and its search partners to extend the available schema categories. Consumers will also benefit from this effort by experiencing richer search experiences and content from a much broader set of publishers.

While this new initiative is definitely for the technical user, it should help to create a more unified playing field now that Google, Bing, and Yahoo are all onboard. The goal is to help site owners and developers improve how their sites appear in search results.

Google Redesign Search Engine Reuslts Page - Experimenting & Testing

Written By Lingkar Dunia on Saturday, May 7, 2011 | 6:19 AM

Google always experiment a new things and tests for its product and now Google has just started to redesign its Search Engine Results page. One of our valuable readers has just accidently got this image and news from relevant sources that Google is redesigning its whole Search Result Page and making changes to its current design with a new color scheme and a lot more white space.

One of the Google Representatives also confirmed this news and said that Google is working and conducting one of its user tests. The newly design results page incorporates a tweaked color scheme. The greens, purples and blues are not as harsh as the current set of colors used on Google.com.

The bigger changes focus on separating and spacing out individual search results. There is simply a lot more white space around each search result and each link. Also, each search result is divided by a dashed line.

The new changes are rather dramatic for a search engine used by millions of people daily. Google is gathering data on how people react to the new changes. Those numbers will determine whether or not these changes will move out of testing and become permanent.
