Most Popular Social Sharing Plugin Button for Websites and Blogs

Written By Lingkar Dunia on Saturday, July 9, 2011 | 3:37 PM

BirghtEdge has published a new report which is about the Most Popular Social Sharing Plugin of websites and blogs, In that report the website includes top 10,000 websites and their adoption of social sharing plugins. The report compared the data from June 2011 and July 2011; show that Facebook and Twitter are both doing very well. Facebook has a clear edge though, while Google already shows signs of being able to seriously compete and can beat other social platform. Google+ surely has had a potential since its launched to compete in market.

Google +1 social sharing button is already more common on websites and blogs as compare to the Twitter tweet button. The report states that after analyzing the 10,000 largest websites, 450 of them had the +1 button compared to only 340 for Twitter. Facebook is still the dominant force in the market with 2,000 sites using some form of the Like button. In terms of the overall number of links out to the various social sites, Facebook leads the way with 47.4 percent of the top 10,000 websites including a link to Facebook directly on their homepage. Twitter has 41.8 percent, YouTube has 16.75 percent, and LinkedIn has 3.7 percent.

According to the latest social plugin comparison includes Google+ the report is very much familiar that Facebook offers four plugins: Facebook Like button (10.8 percent), Facebook Like box (6.1 percent), Facebook Connect (1.9 percent), and Facebook Recommendations (1.2 percent). Its not too much of a shocker that Facebook is dominating this scene. Not only does the social network offer the most options, but it has been offering plugins for much longer than its competitors. Google +1 button (4.5 percent) is already ahead of the Twitter Tweet button (2.1 percent) and the Twitter Follow button (1.3 percent). Google+ is still in its infancy stages, its impressive that theyve already taken over Twitter in terms of easily liking content on the Internet.

Google +1 Feature for Search Results - New Social Feature

Written By Lingkar Dunia on Thursday, March 31, 2011 | 3:08 AM

Still Google dont want to stop and really trying to get upper hands in social arena. Google has announced a new social feature for its search engine, a new social service called Google +1 that competes directly with the Facebook like button as a signal for determining what content is most relevant to an individual.

Google +1 feature is only available on search results, but Google plans on rolling this out to many different Internet objects eventually. The functionality requires you to have a public Google profile, and your +1 rating will be posted to your profile.

According to Google Blog; Google +1 to give something your public stamp of approval, so friends, contacts, and others can find the best stuff when they search. Get recommendations for the things that interest you, right when you want them, in your search results. Your +1's are public. They can appear in Google search results, on ads, and sites across the web. You'll always be able to see your own +1's in a new tab on your Google Profile, and if you want, you can share this tab with the world.

Facebook Like Button Updated With Share Functionality

Written By Lingkar Dunia on Monday, February 28, 2011 | 8:43 AM

Facebook has recently make a change in its Like Button functionality feature, now facebook like button will be treated as Share Button with promising feature into a wall of particular users.

Facebook has released an update that fundamentally changes the buttons functionality to that of a Share button. Now after hitting the Like button, a full story with a headline, blurb and thumbnail will be posted to your profile wall. Youll also be given an option to comment on the story link. Previously, only a link to the story would appear in the recent activity, often going unnoticed by users.

I think the change was necessary. Because it was never made clear to users that the Like button would function differently than the Share button, many never understood what it meant to click Like on a piece of content. Making the result the same as the Share button could build stronger user expectations, ultimately fashioning a better user experience.
