Novak Djokovic - Stroll in Melbourne Park

Awwwwww, it was Nico's 30th birthday and Novak crashed the party in spectacular style. At least he let Nico get on the scoresheet.

I am wondering if all these easy matches might not come to bite Novak on the bum in later rounds. Of course it is nice to conserve energy but I also want him match sharp for when he is in a dogfight match. It is not easy to just switch on that kind of mindset.

Anyway it is still undecided who he will play in the next round, Milos & Lleyton are currently on court. I would prefer for Novak to play Milos:

a) He is the future and more likely to meet Novak again. Will be good to get some experience against him.

b) Milos has had a fantastic 12 months and he will relish a crack at the defending champion & World Number 1.

c) It will be good to see Novak against a big hitter, will help with his return of serve.

Anyway, we shall see what happens in the next few hours with the match on Rod Laver Arena.
